The Word Reborn is igniting a passion for God’s Word by presenting artistic musical interpretations of some of the most important and beautiful passages from Holy Scripture. In listening to these compositions, we hope audiences will be touched in ways that deepen their faith and appreciation for the living Word of God.

The Word Reborn is a resource for not only today's church but the church of tomorrow. Worship leaders and musicians are encouraged to explore The Word Reborn collection and to present these songs to their congregations with their own particular artistic interpretations. Songs from The Word Reborn are available in various formats, including recorded tracks for play-along, lead sheets, and sheet music for many instruments.
The Artist and the Vision
Composer: Chuck Marohnic
Chuck Marohnic's career spans more than four decades as a respected pianist, educator, author, director, composer, and arranger. His numerous recordings, instructional books, and collections of arrangements have taken him from the classroom as Emeritus Director of Jazz Studies at Arizona State University to Music Serving the Word Ministries.
Chuck’s original musical compositions begin by humbly approaching scripture for inspiration. He practices Lectio Divina, a tradition which features scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God’s Word. Chuck’s contemplation of scripture leads him to develop musical themes which he then works into entire musical pieces inspired by the Psalms, the Beatitudes, and the Parables of Jesus.
Chuck is instrumental in the development of ear-opening new workshops for church musicians. A widely published author, his latest book/CD is Jazz in the Sanctuary: Sing/Play Along.
Chuck lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife, Mary Ann. Between the two of them, they have three grown children.
